During my time in art school we mostly learned how to draw “mannekes”, which means little men in Dutch, as computers had not yet entered the classroom. This was the time when we dreamt of becoming illustrators and painters.

When I left school and entered the creative work force this dream ended abruptly, and gave way to a never ending demand for computer aided design.

Nevertheless, here a few examples of classic book cover designs for the infamous, and obviously fictitious, Fictitious Publishing. The illustrations are painted with acrylic paint on canvas, the title art has been drawn in Adobe Illustrator.
