To visualize the brand journey for Rolling Stone ME, a set of illustrations had to be drawn showing all the new (planned) extensions for the brand. There were a few characters or personas that had to be summoned doing things in certain places at a certain time of the day.

While I was on vacation somewhere on a beach in Thailand, I sketched the outlook of the illustrations. When I came home I sat behind my Mac and started drawing, this time in Illustrator.

Text and promotional elements would be stuck on top later (see last illustration).

After graduating in old-school graphics and illustration somewhere back in the early nineties, Bart Daems quickly moved to digital design to work on interactive presentation graphics and award-winning multimedia titles. He designed his first professional website in ’96. After co-founding a music dot-com at the end of the millennium, his portfolio grew, firmly rooted in digital, with the design of numerous websites for artists, bands, and online media companies. On his arrival in Dubai (2005) he started working more in e-marketing and digital advertising, designing promo micro-sites and exploring user experiences for established brands. In 2011 he started working as Head of Creative at Rolling Stone Magazine Middle-East, where he worked on integrated proposals and new routes to digitalize the RS magazine. After that, he was Creative Director at Pink Entropy, a deluxe startup agency pushing the boundaries of the digital advertising landscape in the region. Bart has a passion for art, design, and technology. In 2017 he graduated for his MBA degree at the Berlin School of Creative Leadership.
